Director of the Institute of Physics, Nanotechnology and Telecommunications of the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU).

In 1974, he graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute; in 1978, he received a Cand. Sci. degree in technical sciences; in 1991, he was conferred the title of Doctor of Technical Sciences.

He has participated in the work of national and international academies and organisations:

Academician of the International Academy of Nature and Social Sciences; International Academy of Technical Creativity; Member of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences Radiophysical Methods for the Study of Seas and Oceans; member of the national organising committee of the International Conference on Atmospheric Remote Sensing and Meteorology 1995, 1997, 1999; member of the editorial boards of various scientific journals, as well as a number of scientific, methodological and dissertation councils.

Signal Reception and Processing Devices, Theory of Electrical Communications, Theory of Signals.

Fields of scientific interests:

Signal theory, methods and algorithms for receiving digital messages, noise immunity of communication systems, secure digital communication systems, intelligent alarm systems.

Laureate of the RF Government Prize in the field of science and technology (2002), Laureate of the St. Petersburg Government Prize in the field of education (2007), full member of the International Academy of Nature and Social Sciences (1996), full member of the International Academy of Communications, correspondent member of the engineering academy.
