Born on June 19, 1952 in the village of Lebyazhye, Kirov region of the USSR, Sergey Knyazev graduated from the S.M. Kirov Ural Polytechnic Institute in 1975 with the speciality Radioelectronic Devices.
He received the titles of Candidate of Technical Sciences (1984), Doctor of Technical Sciences (2005), Since June 2011 – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Ural Federal University.
The main areas of his scientific work are the electrodynamics of layered structures and antenna technology (phased antenna arrays). He has developed training courses on the topics of Phased Antenna Arrays, Designs of Shields and Microwave Devices, Electromagnetic Fields and Waves, Satellite and Cable TV Systems.
He is the author of more than 100 scientific papers, including five textbooks and teaching aids, the monograph Electrodynamic Calculation of Strip Antenna Radiation Characteristics, as well as seven inventor’s certificates and patents.
