A Tunable Lumped-Element Bandpass Filter with Independent Continuous Tuning of Center Frequency and Bandwidth

Abstract

An approach to design tunable bandpass filters on coupled series LC-tanks with variable capacitors is proposed. Such filters are shown able to provide an independent continuous tuning of center frequency and bandwidth. Design, simulated and measured characteristics of a three-pole varactor-tuned bandpass filter are presented.
